Qualifications for Enrollment

The child must be three years old by September 1 of the year entering preschool in order to attend 3-year-old preschool. If enrolling in 4-year-old preschool, the child must be four years old by September 1 of that school year.
It is recommended that the child be toilet trained. As this is a developmental process, it is not expected that all children will be completely toilet trained by their third birthday. Please be sure to visit with the preschool director if this is an issue which concerns you.
All enrollment information must be completed and on file at the preschool before the child can attend preschool. Enrollment packets will be made available once the application and registration process is complete.

The Enrollment Process

First, fill out an Application. Applications can be filled out and left with the preschool director at any time. An Application may be picked up either at the First Christian Church Office or at the Learning Center Preschool (hours Monday –Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 noon), or it may be downloaded from the First Christian Church website.
Completed Applications can be turned in to the First Christian Church office (hours above) or mailed to the Learning Center Preschool, 202 E 12th Avenue, Emporia, KS 66801
Applications are dated as they are received and are considered on a first come/first serve basis.
Once enrollment for the coming school year has begun, applicants will be mailed a Registration Letter to confirm the family’s interest in the preschool for the coming school year. At that time, a $25 registration fee is required to reserve the child’s place in the class.
Once the completed Registration form and fee have been turned in at the FCC office, an enrollment packet will be made available.
Enrollment packets contain information that must be completed and on file at the preschool before the child may attend classes. Enrollment packets include: general family information, record of immunizations, child health assessment, authorization for emergency medical care, and permission for walking field trips.
Once enrolled, the family will receive a parent handbook and school calendar for the preschool year. Our preschool calendar most closely resembles that of Emporia, USD 253.
